The number of the hotline is 65876866, and it has offered help to more than 200 pregnant girls. Dai Yaohong, deputy director of Shanghai Association of the Study of Adolescence, said that summer vacation never meant to be blank in the education of sex knowledge. Parents and teachers should not neglect the first love between teenage students, and they must take the responsibility to guide the teenagers.


Tingting (not her real name) was the first one to dial the hotline. Dai Liangtu, director of the Maternity Department of No. 411 Hospital, could still recall every detail. Tingting was a good girl in the eyes of everybody. Both she and her boyfriend were good students of a very good high school. They fell in love and finally tasted the forbidden fruit. They went to a private clinic to get induced abortion after Tingting was pregnant, only to cause severe bleeding. She was sent to No.411 Hospital, where the doctors did the best they could to save her. Fortunately, Tingting's was snatched from the jaws of death, but she could never be a mother in the future.


Xiaofang (not her real name) was a rebellious student of a secondary technical school. Life in the school dorms freed her from the discipline of her parents. Two months after having a relationship with a man she knew through the Internet, she found that she was pregnant. Not daring to tell her parents, she asked for help on the Internet, but was unable to get in touch with that man. At last she dialed the hotline and took the surgery. She paid too much for her ignorance.


Dr. Zhang Zhengrong is the one who is responsible for the hotline. He told this reporter that the hotline had answered more than 10,000 inquiries through phone calls, and the inquiries through the Internet were uncountable at all. What was more, most girls who came for the surgery were teenagers, even under 15 years old.
